Beauty Review - Arbonne

You know those weeks where your skin is like: 'I'm gunna give you two giant spots and make sure I'm hella dry so your foundation cakes weirdly around the flakey bits and you can't leave the house for three days'? Yeah, I had one of those a couple of weeks ago, so much that my work colleague told me I had some lasagne on my face when it was actually said spots. True story.

Which is why I was pretty pleased when I was asked to review some beauty products from Arbonne, because my skin was pretty much crying out for some TLC.

Not heard of Arbonne? Neither had I. The company was founded over 30 years ago, but doesn't pay for any advertising, meaning its success has been spread through word of mouth by people who genuinely love the products. Everything is priced at around the same as Clarins/Estee Lauder etc, so it's more of a payday investment as opposed to end of the month on your Boots advantage card, but this stuff works. And as the products are all botanical-based (i.e. no nasty chemicals), cruelty-free, and vegan, what's not to love?

I was lucky enough to be given a selection of bits to try out, here's what I made of them.

Exfoliating scrub
This exfoliator has got that goldilocks texture of just enough scrub to feel like it's doing something, but not so much that you feel like you're sandpaper-ing a layer of your skin off (I'm looking at you St Ives apricot scrub). Suitable for all skin types, this stuff has done wonders on my pores around that pesky T-zone.

Moisturising Hand Cream
This bottle of loveliness has got all three things I want in a hand cream - 1. It actually moisturises my hands, duh, 2. It soaks into your skin super quickly so you're not wandering around for 10 minutes with baby dinosaur arms, and 3. It smells divine. Kinda like a fresh gin and tonic, can I say that? Probably not...

Foundation
As a long-time devotee of Estee Lauder Double Wear, I was almost nervous to try something other than that for fear of looking like a patchy, tired mess. However Arbonne's foundation was a very pleasant surprise! It's really light, which made me feel like I wasn't caking a huge amount on, but still gave me the coverage I need. It's not quite as long wearing as Double Wear, but DW is a bit like putting a light emulsion paint on your face so I was more than happy with Arbonne's lighter alternative. Plus, it stayed on through my Monday evening Insanity class, which in my book makes it a total winner.

Before foundation... argh, my eyes!
After foundation

FC5 Cleanser and Moisturiser
Arbonne has a range of cleansers, toners, moisturisers for all skin types, whether you've got dry, sensitive or acne-prone skin. I tried the FC5 range as my skin is usually pretty dry (despite using a moisturiser every night!) and contains an SPF 20 and  it left my skin feeling loads better. The calm range is great too if your skin is too sensitive for an SPF.

Arbonne is only available to purchase online, so if you'd like to find out a little more then visit their website here.

As well as skincare, Arbonne also has a range of nutrition products which are vegan and sugar free. Check out my friend Francis's page, who uses Arbonne's nutrition products in his '30 Days to Healthy Living' Programme. He is incredibly inspiring and has coached people into some amazing results through the programme, I'm considering trying it myself to get my bod in shape for summer!

Thanks for reading! x

  2. Arbonne is a famous stunner Care Company. Arbonne's beauty skin Products appeared in the U.S., path in 1980. Notwithstanding, the creative thought of propelling beauty skin items struck a chord of Petter Morck in the year 1975 and created it in Switzerland.
