What's in My Handbag

I know what you're thinking: why would the ten people who read this blog (hi Mum) give a flip about what I've got in my handbag? I'll be honest, I needed to find a way to make my new bae aka my Whistles Verity backpack semi-interesting instead of just LOOK AT MY NEW BAG EVERYONE! So yeah, if you could indulge me a bit that would be cool.

I first spotted this little baby hun on ASOS a couple of months ago and fell deeply in love. My parents agreed to buy it for me as an early birthday present (THANKS!) and I love it even more in person. The leather is super soft and smells amazing, and although the bag itself looks pretty small, it's deceptively spacious on the inside, meaning I can still fit everything I need in it without lugging a massive handbag around. Also how great is it that backpacks are 'in' because having carrying stuff on your back and having two hands free for activities is such a revelation!

Anyway, here it is in all its glory, and if you're interested, scroll down to see what I carry around in it day to day.

1. Cath Kidston purse - legit had this about 5 years and still going strong. Which is impressive considering it's stuffed full of various loyalty cards and ten quid in coppers.

2. Sanctuary hand cream - smells incredible and so necessary in this freezing weather

3. Kindle Paperwhite - I got this for Christmas having not been much of a reader, but this year I set myself the challenge of reading one book a month and carrying this around in its pocket-sized form has made reading a whole lot more enjoyable! Recently I've read 'The Lie' by C. L. Taylor and 'The Kind Worth Killing' by Peter Swanson

4. Anker portable phone charger - I don't know where I'd be without this. Let's face it, iPhone batteries are terrible and we've all been caught out a couple of times needing to ring someone or use google maps and then oh my phone just died at 22%, cool. This one's chunky and a bit heavy but you get about 10 full charges out of it, totally recommended.

5. Glasses - for seeing and stuff.

6. Oyster card - zones 1-3 travel card repre-SENT

7. Skinny Dip iphone USB cable - Oh Skinny Dip, you so great. I also have their googly-eyed banana phone case (which I've just realised I haven't even included in this picture, lol). We all know iPhone USB cables last about as long as their battery life (c'mon Apple, sort it out), and skinny dips woven ones are way more durable and most importantly, so jazzy!

8. Tangle Teezer hairbrush - every girl has one of these, and if you don't, GET ONE. I could probably have done with using mine before posing for the pic above - hi flyaways!!

9. The worst earphones in the world - genuinely. They fall out of my ears all the time but I can't be bothered to buy new ones. Maybe I just have weird shaped ear canals? Who knows.

10. Emery board - snagging nails, ain't nobody got time for that.

11. Bobbi Brown 'brown' lipstick - imaginative name it is not, but this is my go to nude lipstick. For me it's amazing because you can put a teeny bit on in the day time for a bit of colour then put a thicker layer on for night time and suddenly you're sass queen.

12. Extra chewing gum - You can't eat garlic bread as much as I do and not carry this around.

13. Sugar coated Vaseline lip balm - my lips are the first thing to go in winter or when i'm tired/run down/hungover. I'm also known amongst my friends as the one who carries lip balm at all times. I can think of better things I'd rather be known for but at least I'm helpful. I've tried ALL the Vaseline varieties and this is my current fave because it tastes kinda sweet.
